As we find ourselves needing to stay home, these next few weeks will be a great opportunity to nest and create a cozy, safe, beautiful space for ourselves. Our homes are our sanctuaries. And keeping ourselves busy with crafts can be very uplifting and create a positive mental state.
There is nothing quite like laying your head down on your pillow and being enveloped in the beautiful fresh scent of rose or lavender. Each of these smells invoke a sense of calm and peace.
They are perfect scents for a good nights rest.
If you have a guest room that doesn't get used every night, this can be a great

Linen sprays can be quite pricey and many of us, especially here in Southern California,
have easy access to fresh growing lavender right in our backyards!

But don't fret if you don't have your own luxurious backyard garden!
...finding lavender and roses is as close as your nearest florist or grocery store.

So follow along as we help you create your very own linen spray.
To make rose water, start with organic roses, you don't want any pesticides in your linen spray.
Remove the rose petals from the stems and rinse them off with water to get rid of any dirt or bugs.
Place the petal into a large pot and cover them in distilled water.
Simmer them for about 15 min, until they appear droopy and pale.
Using a strainer to separate the water from the petals, pour the water into a spray bottle.
I like to add a couple tablespoons of rubbing alcohol to keep any bacteria from growing. If you'd prefer not to do this, make sure to store your water in the refrigerator.
For the lavender linen spray, it's pretty similar except that after you simmer the lavender, place the mixture in a bowl, cover it, and let it sit overnight on the counter.
The next day, strain it and pour into a spray bottle with a couple tablespoons of rubbing alcohol.
If you don't have access to fresh roses or lavender, you can create your linen spray using essential oils.
Add essential oils and alcohol to a small glass spray bottle.
Fill to the top of the bottle with distilled water and shake to combine.
Here's to staying healthy and getting a good night's sleep!
